Find out how to delete your twoDate account with an email code, even without the app. Read what happens to your data and your shared space.

Delete your account with an email code

    Request your code

    Open the secure deletion page and enter the email address for your twoDate account.

    Check your email

    If the address belongs to an account, you'll receive a confirmation code. It is valid for 30 minutes.

    Confirm deletion

    Enter the code and confirm that you want to delete your account. Deletion only happens after you confirm.

You'll go to the secure account page at dateapi.twodev.nl. You don't need the app or your password for this.

What happens to your data?

  • Your account is made unusable. Your name, email address and other profile details are erased or replaced. Your sign-in sessions and push tokens are revoked.
  • Your personal ratings are erased or cleared. Your own private ideas in the ideas catalogue are cleared.
  • Your uploads, including your profile photo, become inaccessible immediately. A cleanup task then removes the files from active storage.
  • Your active connection is closed for both partners. Your partner’s account continues to exist.

What is retained?

The current version retains shared text, such as notes and copies of titles, in a closed couple archive. This may still contain personal data. A new connection cannot access it. Photos uploaded by your partner are not covered by the deletion of your uploads. Copies someone previously saved themselves are not removed from their device.

For a request about personal data in shared content or previously sent usage statistics, contact info@twodate.app. You do not need to contact support to start automatic account deletion.

Data retention

This version has no automatic deletion period for the closed archive. Contact us for information about remaining data and how it can be deleted.

Prefer to use the app?

Open your profile, choose Account verwijderen (Delete account) and confirm with your password. This also closes the connection for both partners. Signing out or removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.

No email received?

Check your spam folder and make sure you used the correct account email address. A confirmation code is valid for 30 minutes. Request a new code if needed and use the most recent one. If you can no longer access your email address, contact info@twodate.app so we can discuss how to verify your identity.
